Melbourne - Mid Week Rides

No probs here Xhilerator ?? Sure been non with mine or Bills and they would have to have been on for a few years now I'd say
They may have a prob with the cheaper units if the stator positioning is out at all and may cause poling against the rotor To be honest the billet few I brought in of which Bills was one are so good it's a shame to hide it with the fairing
The machining is a work of art or is that bling
But remember these are machined from a billet piece of alloy and also strong as, they are not the cheaper cast/ chrome items which may not be cast true and hence give the problem

What FFI said

The alternator coil assembly fitted nicely into the billet cover & was a precision fit (needs to be). Coming up 2 years & no probs.

The stock cover is very thin & the crank end is exposed to permanent damage if the cover fails in a crash & ground contact is made by the alternator magnet.

I wouldn't like to get a quote on a new crank, it would be poisonous, not to mention the labour costs involved in a strip down.

The stock cover will crack merely by an accidental fall in the garage The billet jobby is cheap insurance IMHO & looks nice as well
