It's a totally new clutch very similar to the GSX1000R. It has a very smooth slipper clutch and has been strengthened.
I haven't had any issues with it but over 3 years I learned to live with the GEN 1 clutch.
I don't drag and it's never been a problem for me.

I was tucked at 220.
My Cortech jacket's zips were open on my back though which could be part of the problem.
With my previous bike FZR 1000 I could cruise at 200 with straight arms with a wind blast on my helmet only. From 240 on it enveloped the rider in a vacuum.

Having a bit more time to reflect on the issues in my first post and having just had a read of Peter Lee's impressions on the Hyp4r Hayabusa Resource site, I failed to mention the ignition immobiliser that is now standard on the GEN II and also the incredible induction roar that comes from the ram air tubes under accelleration.
You can't hear the exhaust anymore but the induction roar is akin to a radial engine growl from about 2,000 to 5,000 rpm. I don't know if anyone nearby can hear it, but to the rider it is terrific.
In Peter's article he mentions that the two supplied keys are fixed to the ECU and if lost they can't be replaced. In fact the factory holds two spare keys for every bike, so there are actually four keys available. If you lose them all, its a new ECU and keyset baby.

Another slight alteration on the K8 is that the rear lifting bobbin fittings are lower down and further back along the swingarm.
This makes lifting a bit heavier but the wheel is higher off the ground once you get it up.

I have heard that the steering head angle has been changed, maybe thats why the it handle so well & that must be why it takes the pressure of your wrists,
Things we have found
Rear sub frame sits a bit lower
New front dic's sits out wider, may be for more air cooling ???
key goes underneath the tail to pop the back seat
ive noticed small pieces of film on the side ferings where the boot touches while your driving so the color of the fering will not wear out(anyone else noticed this?..if you dont know what im talking about ill upload a photo

You're right SIMMO!!!
The rake and trail ARE different.
THE 99-07 is 24.12 deg rake and 97mm trail.
THE 08 is 23.4deg rake and 93mm trail.
That would explain the big increase in flickability.

But that's before dropping the sucker through the fork clamps and increasing rear preload. Guess you can do that to both.
