Sports Compact Summer Slam
Saturday Feb 2nd
Classes for Sports Bike and Outlaw Bike.
I think they do a Test&Tune on the Friday night as well.
Sadly doesn't look like us Vic guys will get to play in Outlaw
due to the ANDRA licences.
Been in contact with Sport Compact to try to get a day licence but havn't heard back yet.
Street bikes are O.K to run.

Pity as it cuts out a lot of regular Vic racers , both the 10.0 cutoff and bike mods (lots of extended swingarms ) on non andra bikes
Any interstaters coming down for this??
There's a whisper that us non andra Vic guys will be able to run.
If that's 100% correct I'll be in.
Check with Sport Compact or Heathcote Park raceway. - There is a rumour that despite the ANDRA sanction the Heathcote cover will still be good. It's a grey area and my mail from VIC is that it's not putting off anyone in the know. Heathcote is pretty relaxed about such things. If you run under 10.00 I'd be very surprised if you got a tap on the shoulder - it ain't WSID.
Just got a email.
Non-ANDRA can run at this event.
Iv'e entered Sports bike, new classes for Turbo, nitrous, stretched etc bikes that are not as quick as the outlaw runner.
But if they don't have enough numbers I may jump into Outlaw.
So come on up 1 week to go.
That's good news AntsBusa - I wasn't 100% sure of the facts as the whole ANDRA sanction was still up in the air as little as a week ago.
So far Outlaw has 2 proven hard chargers in Alex Millar on the wolfracing ZX12 NOS bike and Jamie on the S&R turbo busa. Aside from that there's Mike Darcey from VIC and myself providing the other 1/2 of the draw. Looks like I'll have to race the big guns every round. Nothin like getting smashed on your big comeback. If there's no record for you to aim for in Sportsbike, may as well run Outlaw. Look foreward to catching up with yourself and all the other VIC Busa club members. Had a great time with the members from Perth a year ago - Noticed Bear ran a 9 recently - onya mate. Excerpt from rulebook -

Record Setting
There are 5 Records available within the Sports Bike Class as listed below. To be eligible to set a Sports Bike Class Record below, bikes must meet the record requirements. Only Qualifying, Eliminations and Final round runs can be counted towards ET/MPH records. To set a record, it must be backed up by a second run within 1%. It is the riderâ€s responsibility to present the bike to the scrutineering shed immediately after a run if they feel a record has been set. Failure to do so will forfeit the record. Officials will verify the record after a run if the racer feels they have set a record for that class. The record is only awarded to that rider holding the record at the end of the event.
Minimum Weights are only for Class Record setting:
Ballast NOT permitted.
Minimum Weight including rider:
• 485 pounds/ 220 kgs
No record classes turbo or nos in sportsbike I guess that's what outlaw is for.
I think i'll jump over into Outlaw.
I will get hammered in outlaw not running any where near the top guys.
Still getting used to launching with the turbo.
Getting close to an eight but not there yet.
Should be fun though.
See you there.
Good to have you onboard. You won't regret it.
Don't underestimate your chances on your home track either. It can be a tricky one. Maj made the final last year against Nev Langley on Steve Freemans bike. (Turbo EFE - best of a low 8)
Track knowledge and consistency are the keys to Heathcote. For memory - Jamie and Alex Millar haven't ever raced the track. I'd say Maj will be favourite if he shows (beleive he's saving the bike for the salt). Then there's the variable of reliability that comes into play for those really leaning on it.
A coupla high 8's at the pointy end of the day with some good R.T.'s will see your chances right up there with the best of them. That's what happened last year.
I may have fancied my own chances had I had another crack at the track before Feb 2.
I was in Melb to see my ECU guy a coupla weekends ago - Murphys Law - Heathcote didn't have a TnT on that weekend. Add to that a rained out Friday at WSID and our lead up has been less than ideal. Hoping 3 qualifiers will be enough to get a handle on the new clutch and 2 step. Be nice to win 1 round out of 3 to at least pick up some points.
Happy hunting Mate - hope you bag a few scalps.
Weathers looking good for this sat :-)
