I rang springwood the other day and tried to bargain a lower price on a 08. He said sorry mate, as they are in short supply at the moment they all go at rrp.

So why are these so cheap?

ITS SAD TO SEE THAT IF I PUT INFO UP FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL ,ITS MET WITH INUENDO AND SUSPICION.I CLEARLY STATED TO CALL ME ON THE NUMBER GIVEN AND AS A FEW OF YOU FOUND OUT ALL THE DETAILS WHERE PASSED ON TO THEM WITHOUT A HITCH.I UNDERSTAND THAT WE LIVE IN A FORMER ENGLISH PENAL COLONY BUT NOT EVERYONE IS A CRIMINAL.I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO POINT OUT TO THE COCKHEADS WHO ASKED IF THEY WHERE STOLEN etc etc THAT IT WOULD BE REALLY STUPID TO SELL DODGEY BIKES ON AN INTERNATIONAL FORUM EXPOSING YOUR PERSONAL TEL NUMBER AND GIVING YOUR ADDRESS TO OTHER MEMBERSIdiot2.IF PEOPLE DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PURCHASE THAN THEY SHOULD NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH CALLING AND BUSTING MY b#LLS.I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT EVERYONE WAS AFTER A SMARTER DEAL!!!!!! BUT MAYBE I WAS WRONG.TO THE REST SAFE RIDING WITH BETTER PRICES[/size] Pi_thumbsup

Obviously you have never heard of the hundreds of scams per day on ebay where people get ripped off and no one is ever caught. Shock horror - there are even motorbike scams.
Correct me if this seams illogical but if I was trying to help out a group of people with similar interest, I might be a little bit more forth-coming with information. Especially after people asked for more info.
Now if I had a mate in a bike shop who could do some good deals I would type my post like this:
Call John Smith from SuperBikeMegaFactoryDirect bike shop on 555 5555 for a good deal. Mention my name and he will hook you up.

But if I made a post that looked like a scam, had info like a scam, replyed to it like a scam, ....
Well I wouldn't be upset if people treated it like a scam.

Don't get me wrong. I am not against you trying to help others on this forum out. Quite the opposite. Now that I know the full details I applaude your efforts.
But maybe you should look at your own actions before you flame others.

Ride safe.
FIRST I DONT NEED YOUR FUCKIN APPLAUSE SECONDLY YOU USED THE WORD OBVIOUSLY WHICH IN MY OPINNION YOU HAVE NO CONCEPT OF.IF YOU READ THROUGH THE POSTS I NEVER ASKED FOR DETAILS NOR HAVE I ASKED FOR MONEY IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM, ON THE CONTRARY I PUT MY DETAILS UP(OBVIOUSLY).FINALLY YOU SAID YOU GOT THE FULL DETAILS NOW, MAYBE YOU SHOULD HAVE GOT YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU SLANDER,DOUGHT AND RUBBISH PEOPLE .MY ACTIONS WHERE ALL GOOD INTENDED AND MY FLAMEING CAME FROM DISRESPECTFULL BUTTPLUGGERS WHO WHEN GOD GAVE THEM A MOUTH HE RUINED A PERFECT ASSHOLE.DOING SOMETHING TO HELP MEMBERS ON THIS WEBSITE SEEMS LIKE A CHANCE FOR PEOPLE TO ATTACK YOU.I HAVE LEARNT MY LESSON AND WONT BE POSTING ANY PRICES NOR GOOD VALUE ITEMS HERE ANYMORE. mecanics you racist prick where are you when needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I shopped around today and got a good price that I accepted for cash.
It is not the best that has been mentioned but it was good enough for me.

$20,00 ride away is too much to pay!

Even over here in Perth (miles from anywhere) you can do a hell of a lot better than that including 12 months rego!

I'm not interested in a new 08...and i'm not even sure why i'm reading this thread let alone replying to it...
All i can say is that it's human nature to be sceptical...especially in this day and age. Granted there are ways to go about these things without getting people offside...

Being a salesman (no...not bikes) I guess I can see points both sides. The shops need to make a profit, but to do that they actually need to sell. Fine line from being your best friend but also getting every cent out of you they can justify...

I'd also like to say that some people on this thread seem to have some agression issues...

The way i see it, so long as your happy with the price and the fact that you have a new bike who gives a flying f#*k.
there is always going to be some one who got a better deal.
Its like selling some one a second hand part for more than the price of a new one which happens from time to time in my business, if the customer is happy with the price its all that matters

...and at the moment, I am paying $19000 on road with 20-45% off gear. But this is a typical throughout life.

Someone will always get it cheaper, someone will always have more power, someone will always have a better job...etc.
The internet has in this way made us more obsessed with better deals and features, because we have the access to info and a much wider community.

At the end of the day, when I'm on my bike beside someone else on theirs, the last thing either of us are thinging is "I wonder if mine was cheaper than his??" If you are, you've missed the whole reason for being out there on two wheels. Biker

If you can share a deal or take advantage of one, great, of course...it's common sense. If you have paid full price and love it, even better.

This thread just seems to be a bit of de ja vous...???

Ride on!!!

PS: larra, more pics of your bike would be great, I need something to keep me going until mine arrives Very Happy

I paid dead on $20,000 drive away from PS, within about 20 minutes of looking at it I just bought it, probably could have shopped around and saved but the pleasure for me was seeing it and buying it......a grand here or there was not the exercise, the purchase and drive away, choosing my number plates from available stock pile at PS was another reason..... anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Well, as I said above, I shopped around and got a really good price for cash, but I am still waiting for delivery of my colour choice.
Once again I visited the shop today to check on progress and as can be expected over Christmas there is no movement at the warehouse.
The bloody Blue one is looking real good to me sitting there in the shop all alone.
I notice that the VIN number on this latest blue one to arrive is 333.
Anyone with a hankering for that particular number in blue can get a real good ride away price on Monday if they want to.
PM me for a location and price. CASH ONLY!

After I posted earlier today, I made the decision to take the blue.
I find it to be a fantastic colour and I think that there is a lot of room for individual personality to be expressed with the blue.
So I'm picking it up ASAP.
The good price and service will still be available to other buyers if they have cash.

Congrats Busgo, hope you enjoy the new toy. What was your original colour choice???

Well, I chose the blue but was convinced by some friends that the Orange would be unique and collectable so I changed my mind and ordered the Orange.
I love them all and could easily settle for the Grey too because it also sparkles brilliantly.
But Blue it is.
