How It Works.
If you cause trouble other Members can give you a negative point.
If you make up for it and do the right thing they can remove that point by giving you a positive point.
Only 1 point per Member per day.
The system is called your Reputation.
To allocate a point click on the small number below the persons avatar at the end of the word "Reputation" and follow instructions from there.
If admins see that your reputation score has gone over -10 then you may be banned for a week at any time that suits the Admin Team. The end decision will always be made by Admin after looking at the entire situation with as little bias as possible.
In other words if you see your reputation going into the negative your mates are trying to tell you to pull your head in and stop the crap. You can't say you didn't see it coming because the warnings were there in your negative points as they were building up.
If Admin find out that a Member is abusing the system in any way shape or form, then that person may be banned for a month.
YOU will be judged by your peers.

I was gonna give you a point DJ for introducing this system but I couldn't find the button under your avatar mate.

I've already posted along the line of controling/censoring this forum but i'll add this here.
DJ, you know i have a lot of respect for you. Your a top bloke. But, i disagree with your idea of reputation points. These points are visable to everybody who visits the forum and therefore become a label. Labels are rarely a good thing. For example, imagine if we were to allow others to add points based on their opinion of somebody's gender preference, or their religion, etc. Imagine it, under somebody's avitar it says Gay, Jew, or Hetro catholic. This has the potential to alter the way that they individual would be treated, it could even result in that person being targeted for cyber bullying. And the worst part, it's all based on somebody elses opinion, the fact of hte matter is that the individual could be a celebate athiest.
Letting others create reputations for people is a very risky thing and i strongly advise against it.
As you know i work in a primary school and we are teaching students about the benifits of the WWW and the negatives. We are trying to instruct them about cyber safety, how to avoid preditors and deal with cyber bullies. But, ultimately it comes down to the child to make the right decisions.
On this forum i think we need to consider more opinions on how best to censor/control this forum whilst maintaining the users freedom of speach. I added mine to oneo f the posts on the issue and i would hope other regulars will make suggestions of their own. Then allow for open discussion on these ideas, maybe even a poll.
I appreciate your idea, and agree with you on the need for some control. The forum is becoming a disgrace. My pride in being a member is diminishing the more i read derogatory negative posts the less enthusiastic i am to read the forum.
Let's not rush into reputation that could result in slander before we have exhausted all other options.
My opinion, nothing more. I hope that you take this as the suggestion that it is and give it consideration out of respect for me.
On a lighter not, how are those tyres??? you still haven't let me know.

Hey Admins/Mods - while I respect the fact that youhave sen it necessary to impose this type of system on us, it is hardly cricket to elevate yourselves to NOT being able to be targeted by a/any member who sees one of you as having breached whatsoever rule/convention/language code etc. It is a little too lofty methinks.
What say you? One for all and all for one......standard.

I agree too and I was surprised to see that it was not there....
BUT, we don't have a choice once you are placed into the Admin group the feature is removed automatically.
I'd like to point out that there is no "US AND THEM" business within the admin group we are all just members like everyone else except that we can maintain the site.
If you think otherwise - get over it, we are here to help the club as a whole and not any particular group or members.
If DJ reads this post, he may be able to rectify the situation but I don't think that it is possible.

Ray I was going to give you a point for your comment but you don't have the reputation counter below your name either. Are you in the admin group or is this feature only viewable when your online?
I just checked Loafies post [Who is Offline] and his reputation counter is listed so its got nothing to do with being online or offline.
Ok now I just looked again..........I can see Ray is part of the admin group.
Cheers Taub

+1, Another case for this stupid reputation system to go. It's just a big tug job really. I'm still interested in how this "mates of the admin" end up being moderators who then become "immune" from being voted from the big brother house.
At least Busgo made an honest attempt to answer the questions posed by myself. Otherwise this is just a melbourne takeover.
