I have found a neutral a couple of times now between 5th and 6th. At the same time, the gear indicator is blank, and then the box drops back into 5th. I have heard some previous model owners have had this as well???
I am thinking it's a new box thing (only done 250km), or has anyone else had this/know of it?

some people found adjusting the shift lever stoped this coupled with a very posative shift fixed it on the previous model

Simo,
Not experienced with mine. I've now done just over 300kms but admittedly I've only had it in 6th gear a couple of times on the freeway.
I've been avoiding 6th to work it through the rev range but will give it a go and see what happens. Hope yours is just settling in!

Has happened to me a couple of times but only between 2nd and neutral, when downshifting, gear indicator goes blank and when i release the clutch lever it pops into 2nd gear
i just hope they've rectified the 2nd gear issues some of the later gen 1 bikes were having (mine included) damn expensive to fix and i still havent heard of anyone whos been able to claim it on warranty despite being told by one of the blokes in the spares department at my dealer that its a known busa problem... (wish i'd been recording that conversation)
keep us posted as my brother looks like he'll be getting a K8 soon

Yep what Garbo said, its a longer shift into 6th, make sure your shift lever is adjusted to suit you and be positive when shifting, most gears are 4th snick,5th snick get to 6th and its cer..lick,
looks like that is unchanged..

Try without clutch this helps just one motion from five to six
I go from 2nd all the way through gears to six with no clutch and never hit false neutral

The busa is built with a bullit proof gear box, which requires a positive kick to engage. I get a false neutral from time to time and its down to a lazy shift 99% of the time

Simo,
Just did 200k's on mine and no problem between 5th & 6th!
Also no problem going down from second. I think the advice that you need to be firm with the gear change is good.
The only thin I notice is that there is generaly a bit more vibration throughout the machine than on my K3 especially around 3500 - 4000 revs?
Anyone else experienced that?

Yep, the road test by RAPID reported the extra vibes at that range but top end and bottem end are supposed to be smoother.
That is one reason that I would like to have both GEN I and GEN II bikes for a period. So I can do real time comparisons.
The good thing is that you adapt to a new bike fairly quickly and soon judge all other bikes by your current one.
