Love these eliminators...but how legal are they...??
Especially in NSW?? Have heard / read you need the reflector?

The ADR's are so complex it makes almost any modification illegal. The only detail I can find is regarding the license plate light. I know Competition Werkes sell fender eliminators that actually fit in front of the rear wheel. At the end of the day the License plates, license plate lights and turn signals all need to be visable.

Well....Competition Werkes kits are the most expensive around. I have only found one Aussie company selling them and they have the retail at $259. We can knock 20% off that and throw in free delivery.
Send me a mail on sales@bikemonkey.com.au if you want to reserve one.
Thanks
Carl

We sell XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX and researched this when we released to the market.
ALL fender eliminators are illegal in Australia due to the 45 degree rule. It's in ADR, so applies in every state.
Take a line through the rear axle rearwards and upwards at 45 degrees. The bodywork must extend below that level behind the tyre.
Believe it or not, under the strict interpretation of the law, if you had a C/F golf club shaft attached to the F/E to below 45 Degree's with a reflective pad on it, it should be legal. I believe one of the Aprilia's has a skinny extension to comply.
We continue to sell the XXXXXXX, with that proviso. Doesn't seem to stop many people buying.
I've had several cops check out my bikes with F/E's on and not been stopped yet. Guess with a reasonable number of cops, if you're not doing anything dumb to attract their attention, they've got better things to do. (I know there's the arsehole brigade that just look for an excuse...)

I am thinking of putting an undertail on, and it will still meet ADR.

Really......who cares ??
If we all stuck to the legit ADR's and as"the man" wanted, I guess that we would all have stock pipes, no pair valve mods, stock air boxes, massive blinkers, and reflectors all over !!!
I dont have a F/E, but I did cut my mack truck mudflap off,,,,,,,,,,,,,because thats the way I like it !
(My 2cents worth anyway).

As I said, unless you have a long enough..., and Rainbow your's looks about long enough. Is it home made, or what brand?
Per previous, I ran a 45 deg on a side pic (Official Suzuki Pic) and with any brand I've come across and any undertail I'm aware of it doesn't meet the 45, without something hanging down.
I ride bikes with F/E's and really couldn't give a... as long as I don't get any more fines. (not to mention, the exhaust, rego tube...)
My comment was to the question of legality asked by one poster, obviously that person did care.
According to ADR they are (pretty well) all illegal and we checked a very large number of bikes and F/E brands (though Rainbow seems to have found the exception to the rule). As I said, most people buy anyway, however it's as well that anyone who asks is told.
As a company that sells F/E's we prefer to advise customers up front and let them make up their own minds.

I've bought quite a few things from that seller; definitely recommend him.

Forgot to add, yes, you do need a number plate light and a reflector. Cops do tend to get a bit anal on those (at night at least)
Many taillights have a reflector section, can't remember on the Busa or otherwise it can be very small stick on.
