Dropped her

Ditto with the BUGGER bloke....

The lead to the bars is the answer if parked out in public. Better safe than sorry, I reckon.

Don't hesitate to hit the insurance up. That is what it is for mate.

Madmax Wrote:Heidi, I wasn' really that speechless when she went down, just dog-tired after too may 12 hour shifts and not concentrating.

Rod - I really do need one of those straps aye!

I park the bike right next to the window where my desk sits on the other side. I go mobile several times a night to say G'day to my guys but most of the time stuck down paperwork. The area our office is is pretty shitty for petty crime, we have lost cars from out the front to thieves and the Black and Grey is turning into quite a pretty bike. The alternative is a good alarm I suppose but the Zena disk lock has kept her on the step and she's not been thieved so some thing's working. Would a heap of blokes in uniform all carrying guns have that sort of effect?Icon_rolleyes

Oh Max!!! Thats very not good. Tony has nearly done that twice so I decided to by a lanyard to goes up from the lock to the handle bar. Being bright orange also helps.

bad luck there max hope it aint as bad as it seems for you but after the other thread on the broken front guard why do people still use those fucken things I really have never seen the reasoning behind them the grip lock i use does the same thing it locks the brakes onto the fron wheel thus eliminating the ease of rolling the bike away if the thief is going to lift the front wheel and carry it well both locks wont work then

THROW THE FUCKEN THING AWAY and the bright strap that goes with it and never have that empty feeling happen again when you see your pride and joy fall to the ground i had it once but that was the rolling off the side stand episode

Max - those rolling 12hr shifts are deadly end on end! I'm doing them from now til xmas, they take the edge off you for sure.

Just use the insurance and get it fixed right first time, next years premium may rise a little Lol3 but you will forget that when you are back in the saddle on your fave corner or straight piece of tarmac.

Before you ring them, just have one or two quiet jacks and there will be no pain Pi_tongue

Man that sucks...... if you do use a disk lock --- do as one of the other posters suggest -- have a strap that goes to your handle bars OR look for the disk lock that has an alarm on it --- when the bike becomes level it screams off its nut - so unless you have an mp3 player in your ear at 1000 DB you should be able to hear it ....

Of if your really clever make a switch that goes to the stand switch so that if you put your bike into gear whilst the disk lock is on, the motor automatically cuts out

Hey Max,

Very sad to hear. If you want, I can come over Wednesday morning and bring you some bar ends.

I might start using my bright orange "Remove before flight" tag I've got a lot more often.

Busdriver (aka Les)

Bugger mate you had me worried when I read the dropped bike heading. Glad your ok.

I have a full spare set of bodywork with only mild rashing. Let me know if you need it or need a hand with anything.
