ok was cruising at 90kph in 6th gear on saturday and all of a sudden i lost power and started spewing whitesmoke everywere. turned the bikeoff and let it sit then babied it the 6kms home power seemed to be restored and was running ok apart from a bit of smoke. got home pulled the plugs which had a light coating of oil on all 4 plugs evenly that shouldnt have been there. bike blows smoke while ideling which decreases in volume upto operating temperature and then only slightly smokes at operating temperature. the bike didnt get hot at all, hasnt missed a beat really since i bought until now. there is no coolant in the oil or vice versa i got no idea whats wrong anyone else know? thanks guys oh its a 99 by the way
Regards

Could also be a busted head gasket Dantheman. Don't necessarily get coolant in your oil, can get lotsa smoke and shit.
Do you have the kit to do a compression test?

Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!
Maybe, if the bike has been layed down on its side oil from the gearbox may have seeped into the air filter compartment.
Just a maybe that is.

hasnt been layd over for over 20,000kms. it may be the head gasket but i was a bit dubious that the gasket would have gone on all four pots. oh well i bought another bike this morningso i can get around and give me time to inspect this issue more thouroughly
