Help with Trayback Busa..
#1
I'm in the process of designing/constructing a tray attachment for the busa so that I can carry something of reasonable size on the back.

I used to have a full set of 'spare' fairings but sold some of them off.

Does anyone [preferably in Vic] have a ductail fairing, in any condition that they'd be willing to sell or lend for a couple months? I've got the alloy subframe which was replaced and want to get a ductail to put around it so I get the plate dimensions perfect.

Anyone have a broken pillion seat or hump? I'm also after the plate on them that has the two latch/catch things that lock in.

I'll be checking out Vic Wreckers, but I already know they're pretty much 50% retail.

Cheers,

Jon

I've got a cracked ductail that may be of use, you're welcome to use it for as long as you need...
What are you trying to make? A ventura rack is not up to the job?

I have a Givi Maxia box mounted on a Ventura Rack, but the rack was not up to the task... A bit of bracing fixed that....

Then the std Ventura mounts broke, new mounts (approx 70mm wide and 10mm thick) sorted out that problem.

I have also thought of making up a new plate to sit where the pillion seat sits... My Givi box could be mounted to new plate. That way it would be really simple to switch from the pillion seat to the ducktail to the plate (and Givi box).

hey BW1300!
haven't seen you around here before.
Yeah, I've got a Ventura and also had my doubts about it sithout reinforcement. Thanks for the info, I'm certainly not going to try it at all!

I'll post some pics of the finished product, hopefully only 2/3 months away!

Hi Slong...

I have been around for a while but never got around to posting.

I have some pickies of my modified rack, but I am not sure how to attach them.

Some may say that it is sacreligious putting a box on a Busa, but it is so convenient knowing that your goods will arrive safe and dry, and I have noticed no ill effects from the Givi box.

Those who say it is 'sacriligious' most likely don't ride their bike every day, and don't 'love' it for the work horse that it can be.

Each to their own however, it's for practicalities sake.
Personally I think the Ventura rack is an eyesore, but it does it's job very well.

Could you send the pics to me?

There is one member who has been known to carry engine blocks from location to location. Nice looking workhorse!

Next, we'll seem them at country shows being used in tractor pulls...
