Are we getting screwed or what?

Since the purple people eater is up for sale I have been looking around at busas to get an idea of what I'm in for when it comes time to buy. Seems to me that all the dealers out there are out to totally screw us over. I mean 99 machines with $14500 on them, 01's with damn near $16000 on them WTF.

The real insult was seeing action parramatta selling a 1994 RF900 with 70000km on the clock, shabby paintwork, f****d rear shock, and rego thats almost gone for $8000. Havent these guys heard of the redbook. Mine is far superior and being sold for much less. Insulting when they would only give about $3000 for a trade. $5000 profit is in my book not good business practise.

So, I think I shall sell privately and buy privately and would encourage everybody else to do the same, since we are getting shafted.

Well, must go, popcorn is ready. Anybody know of any dealers that are extremely bad, or extremely good, please let us know.

why don't you ride to Melbourne, get a good price and ride home?

Or you could fly down for $200? and save a couple of grand in doing so! -385-

Hi there.

I've got the purple people eater up for private sale, if I can get a good price by coming down to Melbourne to get a Busa then I will do so. I'll ask around when the PPE goes and see what is happening.

BTW did that 2001 Blue/Silver sell yet or is it still on the lot. That's the sort of figure I'm looking for, if I can do it for about a 10K changeover then i will go for it.

only problem with buying private to get a better deal is that you onl;y get second hand bit hard to buy a new model privately unless its smoking I payed $17,100 for my 02 drive away Bob payed something like 21k for his 03 and others have payed even less than I did for an 02 best bet is if ya can hang out until late june go and see a dealer then you wil get a good price and you also have the bargaining power as is it end of finacial year and also end of GST quarter salesmen are willing to lop of their mothers arms for a sale around that period

give it a go and let us know your feed back
Regards Bill

21K....ease up Bloke, I'm not that bloody gullible.
I paid $19K for Chopper Busa but it was April '03 and they did give me a good trade on my old bike so I guess it's all relative.
I have always found if you are not in a hurry and willing to play one dealer off against the other then you will end up getting a decent deal. Another tip.....the end of a financial year is a good time to buy but if you can't wait that long then the end of the month is good also, especially if they want to make their sales figures look better for the month.
Ther is an excellent Busa for sale in the latest Motorcycle trader. 10000 klms owned by a 65 year old, never ridden in traffic, always garaged $13500 I think that bike would definately be worth a look.

hehe rocket rod it is true that our Busa's go faster up this way maybe it is because of all the methane gas the banana peels let out when they decomposing and that mixing with our air naturally makes our bikes faster and dearer Regards Bill
