I remember reading in these topics about moving the air temp sensor in the air box.(cant find it now).Anyway i noticed yesterday after going for a fang that when i went to restart the bike after resting for 20 min it took about 5or6 stabs at the button before it would fire.Could this be the problam?If you move the sensor to a cooler part of the airbox would it not tend to run rich in winter????Has anyone done this mod and what were your results? I have tried moving the inlet air temp sensor to a position adjacent to the fuse assembly inside the LH inlet duct & although it did fix the hot day throttle glitch just off idle, I was told by others that the FI needs to get it's air temperature signal as close to the throttle bodies as possible to ensure correct mixtures at all throttle openings & particularly at higher openings.
I put it back where it was and had it remapped & no prob's since. Never had hot starting problems either.
Who was it remaped by and how much did it set you back?
If it has just started getting cranky, then it sounds like your bike needs a medical checkup! Repositioning the IATS into cooler airflow will result in richer fuel mixtures. You may have vapour lock or an out of spec sensor.
Had it re-mapped & dyno checked to confirm improvements at Pete's Pitstop in Narre Warren. PTR also has dyno facilities to take the guesswork out of it. Cost was about $90.
