Velocity stacks for busa
#1
Is any one using or has an experience from the past with velocity stacks on busa? There are some good deals on them but I am still curious if it is worth the trouble.

Gen 1 or 2? ZX14 stacks work on the Gen 2 and reputedly slightly increase power (dyno confirmed).

On a Gen2 1340cc - 4 x short rubber Schnitz stacks will increase top end horsepower a bit.
You really need a bunch of different stacks & try em out on the dyno yourself to see if they'll give you the "extra" where you want it.Coolsmiley

Shifu - we have them in stock if you need them for Gen-II.

Let me know best price you can find locally in AU, I'll see if we can match that & send these right over.

Thanks Max, That would be ideal solution but unfortunately I do not have any to try and compare. The ones I mentioned - VEL-S31-4545 suppose to be specialy made for busa (that is what they claim), so if I decide to go ahead that will be the ones I get. Just not convinced if there is any real value in that investment so I am looking for info from people that use or used them in the past. Cheers.

Got your message Mark. From what you are saying it looks like a viable option. My bike after tuning has 189 hp on a wheel (which I think is pretty standard for Gen2) so getting it to your figure would be a significant improvement. Thanks a lot Pi_thumbsup

Thanks Tim. I found them for $240 plus postage (not sure how much that is) on few sites and Fay Myers Motorcycle World sells them for about the same with a free postage but I never have dealt with them before. I haven't decided whether to go ahead with it yet. Will let you know next week.
Cheers.

Ah, the good ol days when I ran a Gen2 1340.
4 Short Stacks helps, but no doubt you've already got your ARC 2 CDI Ignition System fitted or an alternative CDI unit. No good getting all that stuff right unless your burning all your fuel. Wait for it.......there's bound to be another Pashnit advert coming your way Lol2

I thought the ARC 2 is only for turbo or highly compressed motors. I don't suppose you get a boost from the velocity stacks Confused but rather improved volumetric efficiency.

No, you don't get boost from velocity stacks. Just set the ARC2 to "restrike" & burn all that fuel. Can be bought with special harness for Busa. Worked for me. Fuel Economy is better too.

Thanks very much Max. I've looked into it and you are completely right. There are some clear benefits from CDI especially at high revs. Looks like ARC-2 and the VS will be the wining combo. Now I am going to spend the money Yes

Cheers

I just bought the ARC-2 box and the harness. Waiting for the best offer from Tim on the stacks. But since I have gixxer 1000 I will have a close look at it and see if they will mount OK. But still I like the pretty ones Smitten.
