Oil FILTERS!
#1
Hi everyone, Just wondering what filters everyone is running, and where'd you get them? I did a forum search and came back with LOTS of info on oils and heaps on air filters, but not much on oil filters.

Although I did read something about SHIFU putting in a secondary filter?

I looked into one of the links SHIFU put up about different filters too but it was an American based analysis and it recommends the following:

Purolator PL14476 / PL14477
Mobil1 M1-102
Bosch 3330
Walmart Supertech ST4967 / 4386

Does anyone know if they are available in Au??

Also, the website was only up to 2003, so maybe there has been some changes?

KAWASUKI sells OLEON oils, does anyone know if he sells filters too?

Thanks for ANY input!!

Thanks Greeny!! (I'm sure you sleep less than I do!!)

Still be interested to see what else is out there as it seems there is heaps of options out there for oils but not much for the filters!!

And one thing I agree with shifu about is it isn't all about the oil!!!!

Aaron, I buy cheapie filters and change them everytime I do the oil. That's every 5000km at the most. These days my bike sits for long periods, so if I have a big ride coming up I'll change oil and filter even if I only did it 3,000km ago. Probably overkill, but I reckon you can "feel" new oil in the motor, and never had a breakdown in 13years of owning this 'busa.
-and I'm going back to the motul5100 oil - you can keep your full synth stuff - too runny!Pi_freak

I just got a couple of K&N oil filters from a UK ebay store - $30 delivered for the 2 filters.
The store name was YB Filters.

K&N from a car parts place in Richmond about $16 each, I love them because they have the 17mm nut on the end make life easy pulling the suckers off, but if you have some after market pipes clearance issues may come into play when fitting / removing them I had issues with my Gen1 with TiForce pipe I had to remove the first header pipe each time
