removing chrome handle bar bolt covers

Hi all,

Anyone know how to remove the chrome bold covers from the upper triple tree on a Gen I?

I've ordered a billet one off fleabay which should arrive soon. But not sure how to get the bolt covers off without damaging them.

Knife edge or Box cutter , Lift straight up . Don't drop & loose the sucker's .

Yea a blade is good, or the thinnish flat screw driver.

Getting them out is one thing, getting them out with out dropping or scratching them is another.
