Hey guys, been ages since my last post...hey just wondering if anyone from the Hunter Valley or Sydney even is heading down to the Snowy ride?? i'm heading down Friday the 4th but I want to bypass ALL highways including the Monaro...any route suggestions and anyone keen to travel together?

Go through, Oberon, Black Springs to Goulburn, Then go through Goulburn and out the otherside (not on the highway) through Tarago, Braidwood, Ballalaba & into Cooma.

Alternatively from Goulburn go to Yass and turn off to Batlow, Tumbarumba, Tooma, Khancoban, Thredbo, Jindabyne...

Great country side....
Sorry not heading down at this stage.

Hey humbussa,
I was thinking about it but I get back from Singapore close to this? and a mate has a spare bed so I might consider, if we go I will keep you posted and your welcome to tag... we don't do highways all back roads. I guy we go with has never missed one.. so we take the long ways and the twistie ways.. many smiles and miles.
when you going down and planning to come back? we are going friday back sunday.. normally take more time off but this time its hardcore time frame straight down and straight back (only in the sense of time not direction)

Hello

1hotbusa and I are both going (we will be on our red BMW). We usually meet up with a group at the Mobil service station at Phesant's Nest at ~7am. We usually follow the highway and then cut through the back of Braidwood to Queanbeyan then onto Cooma and Thredbo.

If there is a group going, how about a Busa club...and BMW Very Happy meet up for lunch in Jindabyne on Saturday at the pub?

Hey Kathy,
I will keep you posted on the lunch...I'm yet to consider the loop on the Saturday...looks great as we didn't get to finish it on the last Busa ride we did down there a few years ago as you know.

I will be on the V-Strom for the snowy but it has no problem keeping up and comfy too! the busa will be sad but i'm sure it will enjoy the break lol.

Hum,

I have travelled plenty of this area in my 4wd and always found the main roads to be bitumen. I can't remember exactly in this location but I think your referring to Snowball Rd?

I am pretty sure it is 100% bitumen from Braidwood to Cooma.

Just in case though contact Cooma Information Centre and they should be able to confirm for you. Cooma Information Centre - (02)6455 1742

If you can get to Nimitabell it has a real good Leather shop & Pie Shop!!! Worth the detour.

It is 100% bitumen from Braidwood to Cooma. They were doing some work entering into Queanbeyan but I think that may be finished now.

Well 1hot and I arrived home safe and sound.

Wow what a weekend!!! The weather was perfect, there were a total of 3115 registered riders at the Snowy Ride Clap and approximately $300K raised towards child cancer research.....Trophy awesome effort.

We saw quite a few Busas including a couple of Jaffa's, a Gold, a few Gen I's in a variety of colours including one that was painted blue red and white. The only members from the Busa club we chatted to was Mr & Mrs Keno.

Already booked for the next two Snowy rides and hopefully when they roll around the weekend won't go so fast Coolsmiley.
