Turns out that they didn't give us the overdraft as told to us, they withdrew the money from one of our other accounts, but the withdrawal did not show up until yesterday Wtf

Today we received a letter from the bank stating the details of the skimmed withdrawal....which we already knew and told the bank, but the letter then finishes by saying "we hope this answers your dispute" Wtf No it doesn't!!!!!!

I guess it is back to calling the call centre tomorrow for some real answers.

Sorry to say Kathy, but you might be stuck with a loss. The bank will cover any fraudulent transactions where you did not knowingly contributed to it. If someone made a copy of your card, as it seems to be the case here, and the legitimate PIN was used they might try to wiggle out of it. I am sure all ATMs have cameras installed so there should be some recorse for you to prove that it was not you doing that transaction.
Good luck Pi_thumbsup

Kathy please go back to the bank and ask them to issue a immediate refund - else warn them of legal action. Shifu, if the money is withdrawn from your account without your permission then Bank has to refund it - NO matter what is the cause of the withdrawal.

I had my friend who got skimmed and a small amount was withdrawn from his account - he wasnt there to check so the next withdrawal was for $7000/- which he noticed immediately - called the bank, ran to the branch insure that they not only refund his money but also put a hold on his account.

its unfortunate that you have to go through it - but this is the price we pay for using the cutting edge technology.
Banks have enough insurance to cover their asses. You just need to make sure that you get your money back

I'm with Bill on this.

Its the banks card, its the banks atm, it was the lack of security on the atm (video or electronic) that lead to the skimming.

Go get em Kath!
