New Busa owner

Hi all,

Just picked myself up a 99 busa gold/bronze unit.

Looking to get back in to some ridinig on the weekends after a few years break. (sydney)

Just have a few questions on the new bike if anyone could help me out, would be appreciated.

Q: how can i tell if the cam/chain tension parts recall has been done?

Q: Has anyone attempted to replace the 99 headers with 04-07 headers, so you can fit mid-pipes and end cans on them? As the 99 has the headers that are 1 piece and go all the way to the muffler.

Q: When is the next ride.......... cant wait. hope to see some of you out there one weekend.

aboard dave , youv'e just missed our annual tathra trip away but theres always next yr , as for rides mate we have a rideing not talking section just post up a ride and see if you get any bites .

as for the other stuff the wise sages of the forum can help you with that

first thing call suzuki Aus with your Vin number and they will let you no what recals have been done ,
Some of the 99 had headers with twin midpipes i think it was only the first bunch had only one mid pipe (but someone might corect me on that)

Re: cam chain recall.....check around the right hand side of ur frame up near the steering head area....u might see a recall sticker (CCA) attached!!

Last year we did a great run to Kangaroo Valley for lunch, the Sydney mob, Canberra team and Illawarra. We even picked up a couple of newbies at the pub.

Let's organise it again for January, that way ChemoDave can meet a few more.
