1st Bike Night of 2006
#1
What a top night!

We had around the 50 bike mark, 1 and a half staging lanes of paired off bikes.
There were lots turned away too as the 160 vehicle limit was enforced, but we still got over 30 bikes there to spectate.

And how good was that fully kitted Goldwing, with the stereo blaring doing a burnout, I think he was running 11's.
We also had a top mix of street bikes from old gpx250's to race replica 1000's.

There was also the debut being made by Leonard on QUICK SILVER, and it looks as if the bar just got raised a few notches in the No Bar stakes, with his first night out on Quick Silver he was running the numbers, this bike will LOVE being on the fully preped track next week and will be something to watch.

Alex Borg beat me in our race to the 8's, he not only cracked into the 8's, but anhilated it with an 8.7@166mph this bike still has teething problems and once he sorts it out he should be running low 8's.

The next Street Bike Shootout is on the 5th in WA, they have 90 pre payed entries, so they already have the numbers over us, lets see how their times compare.
Dave Gilbert will be flying over to cover it for RAPID, and their times will be on the Braggin Board.

Willowbank have also come to the party and they are opening their gates 2 hours earlier for bikes on the 11th at their Test N Tune, the runs in this 2 hour period will have there times put onto the Braggin Board also, Mike and Rick are chasing down sponsers to put together a prize package too.

I agree Cas a good night all round. Gained some respect for WSID when they gave us all a couple of extra runs at the end of the night.

Had a bit of fun with the new tyres too.

Cant wait for the next one. Bruce

See here, young man, from Walgett to the sea,
From Conroy’s Gap to Castlereagh, there’s none can ride like me.

I'd never been to the drags before, and I'm hooked. I practised clutchless changes the whole way home along the hume and pulled over a couple of time to try going REALLY FAST in a straight line.

NEXT TIME I RIDE!!

P.S. Thanks to all who made me welcome and special thanks to Bruce for the beer.

OH WHAT A PITY PAN! I tried to meet everyone, but I must have missed you. It was great to finally put some faces to names. I suspect I might have been sitting near you, there was a couple with a really cute little dark haired boy near me. The dad appeared to be VERY interested in the Hayabusas. Could that have been you three?

If the dad was dashingly handsome, then that was me .
I was video-taping as many of the Busas as possible...
