Starting problem
#1
Hi all,

Need some advice pls.

Went out this morning, tried to start the beast to head to Heathcote drags. Damn bike wouldn't start. Sounds like the starter motor wouldn't connect on the ring gears constantly. It would fire for about 1 sec then whir up until I let go of the button. It'd catch and I'd go again. Had to rock the bike back and forth in gear to try and engage the ring gear.
I flattened the battery, then jumped it off the car for about 15mins trying to get it to start, to no avail. I gave up, not wanting to get to Heathcote to have the same problem!

Is this a common issue?

Thanks for any advice! Biker

Sounds like the Starter Clutch has shit itself as the starter is always in constant contact with the No 1 Idler so the only thing that can whir is the Starter Clutch
Isn't it Ironic that my Favourite Stretch of Tarmac is called C.O.P. Eek
