After reading a message Volvi made about reinstalling his standard airbox, i decided to do same. The return of awesome bottom end is most welcome. I consider that with the Yoshi stage 1 cams I'll have plenty of top-end.

what do you call bottom end?under 3000?Mine made 80ft/lb at 3000rpm with a small airbox mod and full system.A bit softer from 2-3000 though.I would believe part throttle torque may be crisper.

that was one of the reasons I reverted back to stock box to be able to tune it properly. mechanic I trust said wud be no point trying to tune/map with modded box (box bottom completely closed and sealed off) as figures wouldnt be accurate. he said bike needs its flapper.

Based on what ive seen on dads bike,i wouldn,t fit yosh cams without fitting a thinner head gasket and or reducing the combustion chamber size by shaving the head.Get the compression up to 12 or more and don,t dial them in too late and it will be good from 3000 up instead of from 6000 up.dads is up to 186hp/107ft/lbs.rapid busa made 188hp/108ft/lbs on the same dyno.dads has compression,,ported head and yosh cams.

I still can't ride harder than the bike can, it is still miles in front of me.
This animal is still surprising me with the amount of go she has. As I don't do track days or drag her there is little value in spending the sort of dosh that your Dad did.
I have another 2 years with this remarkable bike. Then I'll get a Gen 2 or whatever and go with the built in speed/performance the replacement bike offers.

Another two years? Mate, go the Gen II. I'm continually astounded by mine. The Gen I is great but the Gen II is miles ahead in terms of finesse. Where the Gen I's power is brutal the Gen II is polished.
