August Rapid Mag

The August Rapid Mag is now out with a bit off the web site press release about the 08 Busa II.
Also a bit of a plug for the club from Jeff Ware and a short writeup of a long distance blat on an 06 busa.

Also the usual drags, stunts and track reports.

A bonus pull out poster of the black 08 busa.

What's the "Long distance" story say??? I'd be interested to compare. I rode my 04 from Brisbane to Melbourne last January when I moved. I was pretty loaded up but the old girl never missed a beat. I had about 150kg of gear + 100kg of me.

That's the difference between a real road bike and a 600-750cc wannabe
load up a small bike with a heap of gear, put the missus on the back and it will struggle up the hills.
I once rode a 1100cc from Alice springs via Melbourne to Albury, then to a mate wedding in Brisbane, then to Sydney, carrying everything for the two of us to live for a month, and the old girl just sung. (all our worldly possessions were in a moving van) - left the territory on the double ton! - Those were the days, I was in Darwin 2 days ago and sad to say that the de-restiction signs are gone, replaced with 130kmph speed signs.

Pubes and cubes - just cant beat em.

Yep. I know what you mean. I was in Darwin a few weeks ago & the guys I went to see were complaining that they can't leave late to attend meetings in Katherine anymore. They have to allow more travel time due to the spped restrictions.
The gear I had on the bike was all I had for 4mths until the rest of the family moved to Melb in April.

was my first time in Darwin - was very impressed, not at all what I had imagined, beautiful place - and a lot warmer than here.
Went from 30degrees on Wednesday to -3 on thursday.

Deeno from Rapid just did a blat down the coast and then up through Bruthen to get down there. Not much gear because a support car followed.

I thought the story on the zx12 smelt of bullshit.9.8 dead stock with that fat dude on it??187hp at the tyre with a pipe? Not even muzzy claims that. This mags meant to be the real deal, their readers can smell bullshit a mile off.I,ve seen dead stock zx12,s at the track with real sized riders and they don,t do 9.8.Not stock height thats for sure.Slammed maybe with about a years practice.[/b]

Hey Spermbank,
it really comes down to the rider doesn't it? If the big fat fucker can get traction and is good with his application - he may be ableto pull times like that.

I was looking around earlier in the 'my pics' folder and came across this. Somewhere near the top of NT in January 05. Time goes quick when you are having fun. Fully loaded, crap conditions, hot as hell, fast as all get out. Rubber went bad, bike smooth as silk. Rider buggered. Touring king indeed is the Big Bus.
