G'day all,
Been a few weeks since I last posted, been busy workin and all
So, have had the ZX14 for a few weeks now and just thought i'd leave some feedback. I still rather the look of the busa and am 'slowly' coming around to the ZX :) The headlights a feckin ugly but christ do they throw out some light! Very impressive.
So being the old bastard I am I had to get me some helirisers which have been fitted and help relieve the poor back and wrist pain I suffer (enjoy) on the sporty bikes lol.
Have made a few small changes, fitted a set of Muzzy stainless cans (cheap option) which sound loverly. Removed the secondary butterflies and feck what a difference. I had only ridden the bike for a few weeks (well days really) and after reading on overseas forums as we all do decided to pull the 'flies'... Talk about unleashing the torque ! It just pulls and pulls now from takeoff to redline. One thing being a fat bastard didnt help on the Busa was wheelies under power with stock gearing. The ZX will now happily power wheelie in 2nd if not careful (umm wheelies are bad mmmkay) with stock gearing.. The plastics on the bike are certainly a LOT thinner and lighter than the Busa, good thing ? Dunno but there is not really a lot in them. Hardly any underseat storage to speak of at all, thats why they invented Ventur racks tho lol. Have purchased a PCIII USB and she is booked into DynoTime (Russel Speak) for a custom MAP and to get the suspension setup for the afore mentioned fat bastard :)
Am I happy with the bike, yup sure am. Is it the same as the Busa ? NO WAY.. This bike will not 'replace' the bike I had last year, but it still makes me grin  Roll on 2008 and hopefully Mr Suzuki will release the updated Busa at last.
One things I definatly do not miss though is the cheesecake gearbox. No missed gears whatsoever. Hope Mr Suzuki has listened and will fix the box in the new one.
So, must get out on a ride with the WA guys soon, be great to catch up with Andy, Ian & Ian (Bear and Rev-IT) and the rest, thats assuming they will let a ZX14 ride alongside them, rider aint near good enough to say in front of them tho hehehe
BTW the new website looks GREAT
Tim
