Hi all,
Considering selling my Busa, just looking for some expert (Busa owners ) advice on the following.
My bike is blue/silver 2000.
KN Filter,
Full Yoshi Stainless Steal
New Tyres,
8000 Ks
Front end modified for better handling
perfect condition
What should I be looking at in regards to offers from bike yards or private?
Thanks for your help.
Cheers.
Marc
Marc, why are you selling??? I tried to sell my bike after loosing my licence for six months. (186 in a 100 zone):">
I wouldn't negotiate on price, the bike didn't sell. That's the best thing that ever happened. Only one month to go now. I can't wait. Iv'e had lots of big bore sport toureres over the last 20 years but the Busa runs rings around them all. Unless the wolves are at you door, "don't do it". (Just my 2 cents worth)
Safe riding, live long and prosper. Regards Phil.
G'day Phil,
Thanks, no wolf's at the door, just the wife.
Purchased the bike with cash and looking for some extra cash to fix up the house.
Main reason is that my friend died the other day after hitting a large pot hole, the bike flung him into a street pole. All sorts of things go through your mind when you witness such tradgedies.
Still considering, there is nothing like the busa, and my love for bikes will never change.
see how I go.
cheers.
safe riding
Marc
Hi Marc
If you are selling your bike because you wanto spend money on your house ( read wife) , you are a better man than me. After all, it will probably be the kitchen or something.
The way i look at it, you shouldent have to sell something to spend it on something else.
seems like you are more affected by your friends death on a bike.
I lost a very good friend on a bike aswell. Fell off on a slight bend on a 900 fireblade. bike just slid straight down the road didnt even flip over. he threw himself off awkward slid and smashed himself into the gutter breaking his neck instantly.
very sad, and a great loss to his family and friends BUT, people die everyday, the means of death is just an excuse.
I find that i sometimes have to scare myself out of being scared or paranoid. Maybe it wont help you but there would be a way that would.
at the same token. if you find that you have constantly negative thoughts about your head while riding and you cant kick them, sell your bike ASAP as this is more dangerous than anythig the road can dish out.
Hope you make the right decision.
Best Regards,
Jessie
Thanks,
I think with time all will heal and I love riding to much to stop. I guess it's just like the saying goes,
If it's in the blood, it's in the blood..
Thanks again for your comments, really helps.
Bye for now.
Marc
hi marc
i agree with all the comments here and you have my full sympathy regarding the loss of your friend, it's obviously very painful and must leave you wondering,,
as for the sale of your busa, i'm sure you have thought about it long and hard but the reality is that when you try and sell such a prize the market just isn't prepared to pay the value you place on it, they will offer you nothing for the extras and still want the bike at a sacrificial price, particularly dealers,,
if you are able to deal with the loss of your friend and love the bike as much as you do, determination will help you find a way around the issues,,
good luck with whatever you decide,,
cheers

Sorry to here your news Marc. Makes my problem of loosing my licence so insignificant. I'm lost for words.
Only you can take the next step, and I'm sure you will make the right one. (Life's like that)
Live long and prosper, regards Phil
Mark I just got me a bussa today with yoshi pipes and chip mod paid $15200 for a 2000 model with 10.000ks
May have been a bit much but looking around I don't think you will have a problem selling it there are not a lot of them around for sale
The island is almost here so if your gonna sell mate do it soon
Hope this helps with your pricing the bike
Good luck to you either way you choose to go
Very sorry to hear about your friend, and from a pothole makes even more distressing.
But to answer your question, I am not in the business, but will just give my own opinions as to what price I think it may fetch.
Retail; Around the 14.800 mark, and I would take the yoshi system off and sell it seperately, you could fetch an extra $12-1400 (if full system)
Dealer; Anything between $12.800 - $13.500. depending on pipes. They are looking to make money on your bike.
My 2 cents, I'd rather let it sit in the garage for those prices and jump back on it when I am ready. But if you can get 14.8 + 1.2 for the pipes seperately, making it 16, I would let it go.
Best of luck whatever you decide.
