Tamiya Busa
#1
I found these models via a link on suzukihayabusa.org
There is listed a Regional Dealer for Australia called
The Toy Traders PTY LTD phone 02-9749-1733
this appears to be a quality model and as soon as I can I am going to contact them regarding purchase of one
Does anybody know if the model is readily available??

Brian

I wonder how strong the subframe is???

It should be fine - they appear to be 02 models...

Actually Richard, if you look at the punch outs, the sub frame appears to be an alloy one... bottom photo RHS, squished between the two frame halves.

I'm lead to believe that the bare bones photo in the middle was taken while they were waiting for the steel replacement from the factory... damn those Tamiya guys are good

You will be pleased to know that my wife contacted the above supplier and the product list he has does not list the Model and he does not expect it to change till the end of the year (typical eh?)
So it looks like I will be buying overseas
If anyone hears of a supplier here who is willing to get the model in could you let me know

The final price is 2400yen for the model
the postage has not been confirmed but will be approx 880yen
2400yen = $34.00Aussie
880yen = $12.40
Total $46.40 Aussie
it all depends on the exchange rate of course
The model is not available till July 2002

I Just received my Tamiya Models and the detail work is excellent, for example all the ribs on the footpegs are well defined, the fins on the radiator look realistic, the Brake Levers are highly detailed with Philips screws moulded into the reservoir caps even the welds on the Frame have been reproduced.

The Tyres are Dunlop Sportsmax (The name finely moulded into the tyre).
Anybody with a 2002 Busa are Suzuki now supplying these tyres instead of Bridgestone tyres ?
or did Tamiya stuff up?.

Or perhaps Tamiya have their own sponsorship arrangements...

How many k's on the clock of your model? Perhaps it's the second set of tyres!
