Thanks for the responses, I'm sure Franko will appreciate all the support. He is about to undergo lots of rehab and exercise over the next few weeks and is looking forward to getting stuck back into drawing his beloved cartoons.
Get well soon my friend.
cheers

I spoke to him today. Said he'd check this thread soon...

Re: "I'm sure these secret mod nuts will try blinging ya bits"

...about 3 before he went in to hospital I went by and had a cuppa with him. We chatted fro a while, then he said, "Pan, can you get my grab rail chromed for me while I'm in hospital?"

He's the father of bling. He introduced me to bling. He planted the seed! Let's not make out like he's a victim of bling. He's a worse perpetrator than we are!!!

WOW....thanx for all the kind words and encouragement guys.....really does help in the recovery process.

well...what can I say...it`s been a hell-of-a-ride!!

I s'pose I was feeling sort of OK until all those drugs wore off and then..."OH MAMA" ...it was like like being slammed head-on into the chest by a run-away freight train!!!...feels like every bone in your body has been shattered.....and the most excrutiating pain of all comes from the simple act of breathing. (after all...to get to all the vital bits during the 6-7hr surgery, they have to cut your rib-cage in half and pry it open so they can all dive in and do their thing!)

Gonna be a long slow recovery (and literally has doubled my life) but it`s certainly better than the alternative where if I hadn`t had this done they reckon in another 10 yrs or so it would`ve been too late to do anything!!

So,without sounding like a wowser or prude or whimp or the like , next time ya go to see your local GP and say..."Hey Doc , I`ve got this here lil pain in my chest " (which has naturally come about by a life-time`s worth of abusing your body!!) ya better be prepared for a seriously weird and scary journey!!...... but it WILL be worth it!
Plus ,of course, you`ve got all these wonderful new upgrades and mods and plumbing and stuff......and that`s surely gotta be a bonus , eh?

Anyways guys, thanx again for all the support...and yes...one day I`ll certainly be back.
"The road to recovery, without a shadow of a doubt, certainly beats being on the road to oblivion!!"

cheers.....Franko
