This story was on Currant Affair last night regarding the 40 year anniversary of the bridge disaster.
The Monaro is still owned by the original owner who was driving it at the time the bridge collapsed.
The chap who was driving the EK wagon has since passed away.

I never owned a Monaro but I did own a XA Fairmont 302 at the time of this disaster.
If I still had that car it would be a very plain car compared to cars nowadays.
Apart from a V8, auto and power steering it had nothing else.
No A/c , stereo, etc but as a young bloke it had everything I wanted. A V8 !
