The rectifier is the same as the TLR rectifier
If you can get a cheap one from the wreckers, take it, then try buying a new one off eBay down the track so the problem doesn't re-surface

If you want a real good rectifier get a Mosfet type , you will need to put the right terminals on it but it will work much better than the std reg

Ordered one from the states (about $75 delivered)....spoke to a few wreckers who wanted over $100 for 2nd handy, for that price they can keep the bastards!!!

I put a Mosfet type rectifier on my Triumph Speed Triple as the original were a known problem. Triumph did a recall on the Daytona 675 and put the Mosfet rectifier on them. Triumph even made a short adaptor lead for direct plug and play which made it neat and easy for me to change the Speed Triple over. Some Yamaha's use this same Mosfet reg.

that should be sweet, as long as it doesn't get much
higher when u rev it, whats the voltage read when u
rev the engine to 3000rpm?

It was sitting about 13.9 - 14.0 on idle (just rechecked everything) and sits about 14 - 14.1 when revved to 2-3000rpm....sound about right?

hey ceejay, I just checked mine
this is on a gen 2 but should be similar to the gen 1,
at idle the battery read around 14.45-50 and when revved
to 3000 it read around 14.75.
yours might be a little low or might be fine
depending on the reg/rec u fitted.
u could try checking all your earths for a good clean contact,
another thing that I can never remember is if the reg/rec
needs a good earth, u could try running a thick guage wire from
the battery to the reg and see if that makes a difference
to the voltage.
other than that try running around with it and see what happens
hope that helps some.
