hi guys, quick question about the idle quality of the gen1, now mine has always idled a bit "cammy" iv been fiddling with the tune trying to get it to idle a bit more solid, and so far this clip is the best i can get, it doesnt worry me to much, just not sure if its a good or bad thing, iv been over all vac lines, checked fuel pressure and all connections/fittings, TPS signal is stable
any ideas?? :S

Suzuki state idle range of 1050rpm to 1250rpm.
Perhaps your idle speed is a bit too slow.
Mine runs and idles better when set closer to the 1250rpm end of the range.
As for the rest of that electrickery with the laptop, no idea sorry.
I'm sure those here much smarter than me (plenty) will be able to give much more comprehensive advice though.

Have you balanced the throttle bodies?

not sure you can adjust the idle tune with gen 1 editor, another program, "Rom Raider" has a separate table for below 2000rpm

kendo, for some reason wich im trying to figure out, if i adjust my idle any higher using the idle adjust screw, it will idle fine yet still very choppy, but once revved the bike will hang at about 1700rpm, iv checked throttle linkage and its shut, tps also showing shut, and will not drop back down
revhead, thats the petrik ecu editor, great bit of free software although a PITA to setup, you have to buy the data cable from a bloke by the name of "boost by smith" google both of those things and that should set you on the right track
yella, havnt balanced TB's yet but its on the cards over the next week or so
maj, the editor can edit TPS and IAP fuel maps, down to 800rpm and 0.0tps, or equiv vacc, also timing table goes low enough, once software is setup you can use it to track exactly wich cells the bike is using for idle or anything else in the rev range, i tuned the bike on dyno with a sniffer up the pipe, shes a tad rich all over to be safe, but setting idle using afr's was no good, extremly choppy to the point it was bouncing over 1000rpm difference, so iv taken it home and just doing it by ear, its much better than it was

but once revved the bike will hang at about 1700rpm,
id be spraying a little mist of water using a little spray bottle ,across the inlet tubes while it is running to see if you have an air leak,it will splutter, there is one little bastard of an air line that has a T piece init this sits between the bottom of #2 an#3 throttle body, also check the little rubber blank offs on 2,3,4 throttle bodies as they perish,

ill be replacing the blanks when i balance the TB's, going tonpull it all down tomorow, iv sprayed all around them with leccy clean wich does the same thing, and had no spluttering or change in idle, i have a feeling alot of this bike has been apart before, so its probly a good idea to pull it apart and check it all
cheers, ash :)

i know the tables go to 0 % but if you put 20% more fuel in the low settings are you seeing a 2 point change in the A/F
it is a different table within the ecu and i don't think editor is using it .
