My gen II clutch was a bit clunky and I sometimes had to double clutch to get it to go into 1st at a standstill, (2010 with 7,000 or so on the clock) I did an oil change and it made no difference.

I decided to bleed the clutch and it made all the difference....topped up the MC four times so it will be a total fluid change or close enough not to matter....brakes are next. Just putting this up as its not always the oil that needs changing and that fluid will have to be changed sooner or later lol!

Same issue with mine - 2010 with 30,000k - Double clutch into 1st from neutral standstill all the time.

I change my brake and clutch fluid every 12 months...no issues

Heck! 40,000km Gen 1 and only changed fluids at 30,000km no problems so far.

Suppose I will have to do the fluids . . . one day.
after 13years the clutch fluid looks like black treacle in the viewing glass.

- slips into first with just the faintest click, (as if the motor was off) even from dead cold first thing in the morning. -always been the same. Maybe it's a gen2 thing?

Slipper clutch....my gen I never did it either. Some suggest welding the clutch up to solve the problem....don't know what it achieves...and if its such a crock why did Mr Suckzuki bother?

So the dealers get about 1-2k fpor 'Delivery'

and they cant even bleed the clutch properly..

I didn't notice as I changed the lines after 50kms and bleed them myself.

This simple changing of fluids yearly is basic. Anyone who hasn't or can't - give us a yell and we'll talk you through it if you like. It's a great way of starting to get your hands dirty by working on your own bike and not trusting the apprentices in the shops to learn on your bike! (:-))

yep - at the end of every winter - teardown and replace all fluids for the summer to come.
your bike will love you for it.

As a hang over from old pommie bike day's , I Flush my system with Metho prior to renewing fluid .Don't know if it's necessary, but old habit's die hard .

Can just see it Greeny...bit a meths for the bike take a few swigs from the bottle....bit more for the bike take some more swigs from the bottle...spill some on the floor bit too much for the bike take lots of swigs from the bottle...pass out and snore for a bit............

One thing I have learned, the Hard way , Liver's Don't like alcohol .Gave up

Gave up alcohol CJ , You last about 1/2 hr if your liver really pack's it in .I do
however have the OK from my specialist to have a Few in Tathra .Thanks for asking mate ,that got my 2000 th post up .
