Well, I was having bad headaches for quite a while, and since my grandfather died from a brain tumour I had to have a CT scan. I'll take my chances.

Yep, i am interested. With both my mother and sister currently undergoing chemo for breast cancer and my father with cancer as well, CTs are a very effective way of seeing what is going on with their cancers so we can chose the most appropriate treatment. Sure there is an increased chance of cancer due to the scans, but the doctors are very aware of using the technology sparingly and to excellent results. I'm having MRIs, which has a far lower dose, but that is because I still appear to be clear at this stage.

Damn, I had a few of those recently, and a couple of MRI's.
MRI's can be pretty frightening, being jammed down a tube barely large enough to fit you, nose to the roof. Then it deafens you with something that sounds like a rapid-fire lazer gun...for 20 minutes...and you're told not to move!
I will say this though, they are an astonishing piece of machinery.
