Hey ladies and gentlemen,
Question, how many Kms is the busa engine good for before any major work?? mine has almost 60,000kms
Reason is I have a 99mod, it still cracks no problems ever.
I have got her for sale and want to speel on about how long it can go without major work, who has done some big kms on there 99 ride?
Regards BUS99
PS I have NSW plate BUS99 for sale.
98k going strong. There are much better stories out there though.
Can you sell a personalised bike plate in NSW?
I believe that if it doesn't go with the bike, it goes back to the RTA.
But as usual, I may be wrong....

Thanks for input BUSGO, I don't think its personalised cause I don't pay anything extra each year.
Standard NSW bike plate is 3 letters followed by 2 numbers.
I was just lucky when asked the RTA back in 2002 and it was available.
So have you had valves checked?

On the valves, no I've never had the head off but shims were all checked at 50k and still standard.
I suppose a compression check should be done one day but I have not had reason to consider one.
My bike has standard plates with two letters and three numbers. In NSW you can have either. 2 AND 3 OR 3 AND 2.
At the time I bought mine 2 years ago, it was a simple one off fee of $75 to order any combo that wasn't already taken.
At this point in NSW only the car personalised are paid for yearly. You can trade individual car plates, I don't know about bike ones in NSW.

Ray,
Normal plates can be swapped but not offically sold. I swapped a guy in Sydney a few years ago as he had MYS600 fitted to his Volvo. A small cash donation and they were mine for my S600 car LOL.
BTW my busa has BUS69 on her. Bruce
N2O no laughing matter
f*** nos I've got Velocity

Hey Bruce,
What does the 69 stand for???? The year you were born or is it just a number you like ????
Cheers Dee
I think I know the answer to that question lol
Good number that 69.
I think it is his target at the strip.... 6.9
Or could be his record with the tweezers....

I know a member (Anon) with around 100 000 klms on his Busa.
He has just replaced the cam chain and had the valve clearances checked. All within tolerances. (Still!) They were first checked at 44 000 klms.
The bike is still pulling around the same RWHP dyno figures of 170 rwhp with 100 ft lbs of torque........... I've been told this bike isn't nursed and does alot of top end runs. (On the track )
The motor requires about 200 ml of oil between 5 to 6 thousand klm oil changes. Hardly worth the effort.
I hope this answers a few questions?

I know a member that had almost 200,000 on his first bus before someone took him out and has over 100,000 on his second.
