So far,Injectors and Fuel pump in hand.
Installed the injectors. Considering that I did not pay too much attention on dissasembly I was lucky to notice the fuel inlet hose on the fuel rail has its own special position. Installed a known good used fuel pump. The little washers for the electrical connectors once dropped on the ground are impossible to find. I thought it would be an idea to test the fuel pump before connecting the fuel hose to the fuel rail. The first bit of fuel that came out was muddy, lucky or that would have gone into my clean injectors. Note to myself,do that every time! Got the stop watch and measuring jug out, Previously I got 275ml in 30 sec, standard fuel pump flow should be minimuim 458 ml in 30 sec to quote MAJ. To my surprise the fuel flow was 500ml in 15 seconds,on the money this is working really well. Hope the pressure regulator is up to its job. Connected up the fuel hose and powered up the ignition a few times to check for any fuel leaks rather than a test ride ending in a ball of fire. Yes I did force the no2 injector when I installed it on/in the fuel rail and yes it is leaking enough to be of concern. removed the injector and slapped in an old "O" ring from the bowels of my tool box. Powered up ignition a few more times to re-check for leaks. Started up still checking for leaks, all good. Went on a test ride,150km and the bike is running very well officer thanks for asking. Why would you remove all Lights and signage from a Highway Patrol Car and Paint it Green????? Defeats the purpose of Highway Patrol...... More like a Road Tax Collector with a GUN. I did spot him first lucky! The intermittent low speed surge/stutter is gone between 2000 and 3000 , 55kmh to 80 kmh in 6th and when The taco hits 7grand look out its not "BOGGING DOWN" any more. I was having traction problems trying to test the bike out to see if it was still bogging down at full throttle around 7grand on the tacho......... I did not RE-BALANCE the throttle bodys with the good fuel pump installed. 1k till the valve clearances need to be checked, so it wont be long before I will balance the throttle bodys as part of the Scheduled Book Service. On the way back, I started to smell petrol at the lights. Lifted the Tank and sure enough the substitute "O" ring is leaking, I must remember not to force things in future. Not a big problem,That will be replaced ASAP with a "NEW O RING" Read Monday. The Bike is running fine now besides the owner induced fuel leak. Thanks for the feed back especially Pete from Pete's Pitstop. Good advice based on professional experience. No debate there! See you all on the road. Thanks.
