Cheaper to get it done at Millenium in the US, i think you will be looking at ~$700AU including freight compared to around $1100 (last price i got.) local

that sounds rather cheap maj. is that just for the plating? i'd be looking at getting bore to 84mm.

US sites are claiming 500usd with an exchange block plus freight etc.

i'll have to visit there site and ask for price and what they do for the $$.

Can't believe it costs more here in oz. Obviously they send it to millenium to be done and place there margin on.
Thank You Maj

They do it locally but charge like there is no one else in Aus doing it... oh wait ...i think they are the only ones doing it...

Buy your pistons through APE and get a discount on plating,

Nickasil is the OEM plating on the bores. Jaguar or BMW tried it and found that sulhur compounds in the petrol ate the coating off. They changed over to Alusil which didn't suffer from that issue. Then they got a lower sulphur content limit imposed on fuel. There are superior coatings available although they might not be cheap or easy to find as nickasil. Just another option if you're striving for excellence.
