Chris, these fit on with the standard bolt holes, no cutting of fairings etc.

A friend of mine recently had fitted a pair of oggy knobs or sliders whatever you wanna call them, to his almost new Triumph speed-triple. He took a slide and those sliders caused his bike to be a write off due to cracking frame or engine housing not sure, where the knobs were fitted.

I personally am very apprehensive about all these various units on the market. No doubt a sidestand fall no probs any of them will save some damage on fairing. But in a slide some can cause greater damage instead of saving you dollars.

Some bikes have special mounting places for these knobs, I say fair enough the mounts were designed to take it. The busa have no such mounts that Im aware of. I have seen what appears to be a good crash pad for the gixxer, tho strangely only for the left side they dont make one for the right. So all Im saying is be careful of which you choose, cheapies are not necessarily a solution but perhaps a recipe for more trouble.

Well said Volvi, I would rather not have them for just that reason.

I've heard they can grab'n'flip the bike in a higher speed slide too, but many people say they're great in low and high speed slides. Even the front wheel/tyre can grab and flip in a slide...

Chris, don't go the aluminuim. Too much weight. Simmo's trying to slow you down!

Go with bling! (made of resin - probably the same weight actually)

My bolts were heli-coiled because the bolt on the flashing ones was bigger than stock. I think it's about 7mm?

Mmmm drilled out and re-tapped to 8mm, your getting closer Simmos mechanic

I had to drill out the centre out of my new sliders out to fit the 8mm bolts in, I had to drill & tapp mine out to 8mm years ago to fit the the oggy knobs in,
the have saved me heaps if damage over the years.
