Tom,technically speaking, the busa doesnt have tappets.
Tappets are refering to rocker arms.As the valves are directly opened from the cams via shims and buckets it is called valve clearance adjustment and not rocker or tappet adjustment.
Its a bit like calling the fast idle lever a choke, everybody knows what you mean, but not exactly the correct terminology. Phuck its the phantom!

TomRux,
Mine were checked again at 50,000 and 62,000ks and still no adjustment required.

I hardly ever exceed 9,000 revs though. (Except briefly in 2nd)

Yes you are right Tom,in the manual it does say tappet adjustment, but this is wrong terminology as there is no tappets. The manual also says every 24000 kms,but i guess valve wear is relative to how much herbs you give the motor.
I remember the mechanic who was running the yamaha yzfs superbikes many years ago telling me that they never touched the heads and valve clearances in a whole year of racing,so that says alot. Phuck its the phantom!
