Head start ?? C'mon guys... be fair and allow the man to retain his dignity ! Both bikes start from the same spot, but Rod has to sprint to his bike from 100 metres away when the flag drops, find the key, start her up and get moving without losing the ash off his smoke in the process. The older I get, the better I was. Regards.... Rob

Head start? I won't need a headstart Rod. This 998 practically rides itself. I'll wait till you drop the head through the triple clamp, shorten the chain by a link, braid your brake lines, lose the over weighted cans, get some decent footpegs, rip the guts out of the airbox, clean the clutch fluid, clean the fuel filters, get a new unshredded rear tyre, and wipe some of that cheese off your face.

... oh, and get a hair cut! -385-

Ok Rod. Are you guys doing another Tassie trip this year? I was going to head to Europe but work committments are such that I might only be able to afford a week and a bit off. Thought about heading to Melb, then doing some Tassie stuff. If your mate's 999 is still on the road then you'll be able to see the back of two bananas!

No... never wondered. Sometimes I look behind and theres a 998 disappearing backwards really fast. Is that the same thing ? I parked behind one once. Looked pretty. I like Ducati's. I owned one once. It looked reallllllly pretty. Sometimes it even started and I got to ride it. But usually, it just looked pretty. Then one day I must have accidentally pressed the auto-oil-change button because I opened the shed next morning and it had ejected its oil load and - silly me - I'd forgotten to put a pan under it. The last time I took any notice of the rear view of a Ducati, it was being hauled away on a truck. Don't get me wrong. I still like Ducati's. I just like 'em better when someone else owns them.

p.s. - I'd like to add that that bike still runs to this day.
