thanks everyone for the responses - its great to be able to tap into other busa owners so easily and get info and help. Re the speedo I think the 8% figure is probably right, and I will try wreckers for the ocky pin. Interesting about the holes in the bodywork - who would have guessed it?!....
By the way ( and Im sure you are all sick of this question!) what is the literal translation of Hayabusa?
May see some of you at this weekend at the workshop. DAVO

A Hayabusa is a small Japanese falcon that can swoop at incredible speeds and eats Blackbirds. As the bus was designed to beat the (then) fastest bike in the world, the Bird, it must have seems like an incredibly funny joke to the designers.

There is all sorts of romantic stories doing the rounds, find a few and pick your fav.
