Went for a ride to Kurri Kurri today. This is one of my regular runs. A bit warm but better than staying at home. Double demerits this long weekend, taking it easy, watching the speed, checking my 6 regularly etc. Met 2 'spitters' today, they're a pain in the arse, I don't stay behind them at all. Stopped at The Gap for fuel and a drink as I was bloody hot in my gear. Sat for a while to cool off and check out my bloody beautiful bike, as you do. Opened the bike up a liitle on the way back then slow through the built up areas. Almost home, approaching the Pacific H'way via Windale, relaxing now. Riding behind a guy in a car, he indicates left and brakes, I think, 'he's pulling over, I'll go around him'. Wrong. Guy is actually turning RIGHT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! The car and I are closing quickly, I'm hitting the horn but he's not stopping I'm going to have to drop it, then he looks to his right and sees me. Big braking and the car stops and I slide past absolutely pissed off with him and me. This happened to me 30 years ago at Wangi, except I ran into the side of that car. A very aggro scene ensued but the local copper didn't book either of us.
Assumptions can hurt us (or worse) because they are often bloody wrong.
I needed to get this off my chest, take care everybody.Denis.
