Dynoverks and PC3+mapping
#1
I wrote off to Dynoverks asking for a club price on theyre fitting a PC3 and custom map. Here is their reply i just got this morning:

Dear Volvi,

We would be able to offer a special for power commander supply, fitment and a custom map of $715. Normally $795. These units have 12 months warranty unlike imported units.

For just a custom map the price would be $225 excluding fitment.

It is also highly recommended that you fit a high flow air filter and exhaust when fitting a PC. For those members who need these items we can provide 10% off filters and exhausts with free fitting.

I have included some blurb on the power commander units below.

We also provide full servicing, fitment and balancing of tyres, smash repair work as well as accessories.

We offer the highest service standards and competitive pricing for all work. For your members we can also offer 10% of on IN STOCK accessories and priority servicing.

For your meeting (Convention) we would like to provide a free minor scheduled service to the value of $235. In regards to the suspension work this is done in a factory next door to us, called Kroozetune, you would need to confirm with them the specifics of their “offer”.

If your group would like to hold a dyno shot out we can also do this at a discounted rate of $60 with a minimum of 15 bikes entering. These shoot outs are a fun social get together and we have many riding groups who run these. Of course bikes with or without Power commanders can “enter”.

Please do not hesitate to contact me in regards to any of the above.

Why a power commander?

People that know nothing about tuning a bike will tell you that you only need to rejet or remap if you change exhaust pipes or make serious mod's. All stock bikes ideally should be re-jetted or mapped. Bikes are designed with fuel systems that are compromised so that they can pass noise, emissions, and economy standards around the world.

Often standard maps ignore your territory emissions and noise laws , not to mention all of the different gasoline formulas available.

Standard map VS custom map?

The standard maps that Dynojet and other manufacturers provide are created using what ever bike happed to be available at the time, in whatever state of tune it happened to be in, with or without high flow air filters, and various different exhaust systems or other modifications.

By paying a specialty shop with a Dynojet compatible Dyno, to create a custom map for your exact bike, you will get the best power optimisation for YOUR particular bike. This will include improving the bikes idle, creating a smoother ride, creating a crisper throttle response, increasing horse power and a much smoother power curve !

All greatly improving YOUR bikes performance.

Why go to Dynoverks?

Dynoverks have the latest Dyno jet 250i machine. All our technicians are master tuners and are Dynojet accredited.

We have Dynojet flow fans and a full air extraction system to ensure a real ride scenario is created. This also ensures a longer mapping session can be performed without causing your bike to overheat and a result in a stop start tune.

Although my dad has dealings with dynoverks and i have a pc3 usb i must say this. There are 2 camps, yosh box tuners and power commander tuners. They are both knowledgable in what they do without question. Both can acheive the same hoarsepower on your bike.Whether or not the pc makes it more rideable with a tre fitted is something i,ve yet had answered(often those that yosh box tune do the gps mod or fit a tre, most pc tuners don,t,hence one does fuel and ignition and the other(pc tuner) does fuel only). Both camps are as one eyed as a trouser snake which as a consumer i find frustrating as i,d clearly like to know the differences, other than dollars. No one wants a cheap tune they just want a good tune,so the dollar argument means little if your bike falls out of tune in a month and shits you.Down the track i will do this exact comparo and you will see what i concluded. If i find the bike fuels better with a yosh box tune the pc comes off.Simple.If it doesn,t I,ll tell you why.Yes my dad supplies at his cost price pc,s for those who wish to purchase them with an exhaust, only because there isn,t many good yosh box tuners about and more shops know how to tune a pc to utilize the full benefits of the exhaust.Gnarbuckle(chris) has done a 9.9 as a full size rider with a 10/10ths yosh box tune so the max power potential is not in question.Who knows maybe its just a holden and ford thing? Both good but different.

I agree that Motec may be the best but who the f*** do you get to tune them, I have a bike that runs like shit and cannot find anyone in Sydney who is experienced with turbo busa's and motec. So I have an expensive piece of unridable shit in the garage. Bruce

Thanks mate I have already done that and you would not believe who they referred me to. No way not a chance in hell of me taking my bike there.

I have been trying to get an answer from Jim at Croyden motorsports but he is absolutely flat out.

I'm that disilusioned with the thing I cant be bothered even fitting the bodywork or cleaning the shit of it.
