If we could source inter-bike communicators at a good price, who would be interested? Let me know if you would be very interested, or only if cheap enough, or are "features" more important (like pilot to pillion privacy feature, or ability to plug mobile phone or radio into system), or is size most important (some units can be installed entirely in the helmet, some need a unit in the pocket, and some require on-bike installation).

I am running a CB provided by BikeComm - paid for itself on the first weekend and several times since. The group I ride with provide a rolling window so those who go for it have coverage in terms of those upholders of law and oncoming traffic. It makes going for it more enjoyable when you don't have to worry about anything else.
Range is between 6-7 klms..
I'd be interested so long as the unit isn't huge,
doesn't require any on-bike install (in pocket/bumbag okay), plugging in a mobile would be an awesome feature.
If the missus ever decides to jump on the back (however unlikely.... doesn't she trust me or something? ) then pillion to pilot secure comm would be a primary option.
Then there's cost, battery type (9v pp3 type would be prefferable), and range.
Drop me a line when you've found a few models with more info.
Mine is permanently mounted with the CB back next to the tail light under the seat and the aerial mounted on a bracket off the rhs hand grab rail bolts.
There is a small switchbox by the clutch lever that is used to control all functions
Cost was about $360..
Where from? I'd like one for sure.
Interested yes, but mainly to get ideas on what others have and are using. My biggest problem is a proper mike/earphone as I don't really go in for Helmet modification. My throat mike is poor, as it picks up the wind more than it does me speaking, and my friend has the same problem but worse as he has a neck like a praying-mantis...
Anybody know where to source decent throat mikes? Or another useful, good voice-pickup option??? If Helmet mod is the ONLY way to go, who and where?

Shadow Bus, what do you mean by that? Can you tell us how that works please.
Richard, I would be somewhat interested in a communication system dependant on price. Wife and I were talking about it the other night since she is coming on the back now.
