I am in the process of taking Suzuki to the Fair Trading Tribunal. I am wanting to get a list of any known recalls for the Hayabusa or any Suzuki gearbox related issues.
Please don't include issues related to failure under race or drag conditions.
Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Only know of one gear box failure over the past 7 years Bad Boy...
The way that guy rode it was amazing it lasted that long.....
(You know who you are Bigshow)
Maybe Faster would be able to shed more light.
Good luck with your quest.
Do a search mate, I had gearbox trouble at a little over 2000km on a 6 week old bike last year. Suzuki are retards when it comes to warranty work (Suzuki Australia that is). A bit like that Brendan Grunter so someting like that who works for them. Good luck.

One of our guys had some problems with a new Busa
up our way, but they gave him a new one and kept the one
that had a few bugs in it I thought that it was a nice
that they gave out a spanking new bus insted of trying to fix
the old one Regards Richard

I'd guess that all they would have done is moved the faulty one onto another sucker and hoped that it wouldn't come back to bite them.

Dirtbags had a problem with an 05, fixed under warranty i believe, as Rod is no longer with us you will have to search the archives and hope its not in the unrestorable topics.
Know of at least 5 ......and one was a repeat performance

This is interesting as John Phillips (aka Warranty Manager@Suzuki) says that they have never had a problem with a gearbox from a Busa ever in all the years they have been in production.
Faster....Can I contact you if I need some specicfics?

What model ?
How many K's ?
What failed ?
Is it just jumping out of gear ?
If so, what gear ?
The early models had a habit of jumping out of 4th & 5 th.
This could be cured in some cases by replacing badly worn rod ball ends (causing lost motion) & adjusting the gear shift lever & being more positive with the foot action. Other worse cases needed gear dog undercutting.
Some riders have broken the selector drum by not using the clutch on down changes as well.
Rev...K6...Jan delivered...24,000kms
Second and third jumping out of gear under load (i.e.on throttle)...Feels like fuel cutting out...
Apparently Dogs worn and selector bent...
Mine was doing the same in 2nd gear. If they are saying there have been no problems in Australia tell them that they are liars, I took them to fair trading too but was still outta pocket at the end of the day. But yer, go for them I say.
Good luck.
Also know of several "gearbox's" for sale ........ 1 is s/hand and has 1st and 2nd gears undercut in excellent condition and another that is a full set of new gears at around a K when full price is $2,400.00 to replace is pretty good price
That is very disappointing to have those serious problems at so low a mileage BB...
I've never had any problems buying second hand bikes .....maybe all the bugs have already been fixed
Except for my old 99 busa. The back torque limiter on it was problematic from the start .......but hey........rider technique was the apparent culprit. All those years riding every conceivable bike out there & I never realised I was a technically deficient rider..........ah well....you live & learn
Then there's the depreciation
I'm on something else now
