Same here. In my case over $31,000.
Had one bike insured my whole life (VMAX). Perfect riding record, no claims & next year they hiked it from $1200 to $1500 (QBE) 1995. Told em to shove it. Risky ? yep, but I haven't pranged a bike for decades touch wood & if I lost 2 bikes I'd still be in front on saved premiums . Theft ? bit hard to get past two beserk dogs If I have to park it where I can't see it & that is hardly ever, I chain it to a post with my Cryptonite cable lock. Might slow em down a bit. Get two or three tickets in a year & suddenly you are an unspeakably unclean untouchable in the eyes of these insurance companies. Needless to say, they use this "dangerous behaviour" to justify extortionist premiums from everyone which is not based on claims history When in fact the only criteria should be how many bikes have you wrecked & claims you have actually made Lets face it, some blokes are pretty good at speeding without trowelling

tend to agree with the above.
I only have extened 3rd party at 80 bucks a year for this bike. In case I am in the wrong... Never had full and never will, I reckon it's a rip. Merry Xmas! Cheers, Pete Z Web World Mobile Dj, Web Design, Photography, Bullshit Artist! |
