Confusedheh guy's,got an 09 and it has started 2 rattle in the top gears under load, 1st 2nd 3rd seem fine, but if I'm in 4,5,6 at about 3-3.5thou and roll on the throttle it sounds like a top end rattle as though the timing is way out of sync and the throttle seems 2 b a bit stiff at times, is there anyway the suzi retard set up could b sticking on or a bad connection or fuse somewhere I can't find, jigged all the fkn wires to check 4 a short, could it b lean,it has a slight high pitched whistle, [just]someone told me maybe fuel pump, hope not , i'm thinking lean myself but really have no fkn idear, not a mechanics a hole reallyShowback, anyone had or heard of this sort of thing b 4 ,any help would b appreciated, thanks

Sounds like it's detonating under load, Busa hasn't got a knock sensor to wind back the ignition timing so I'd be checking the obvious stuff first, i.e. fresh 98 octane petrol, no air leaks around throttle bodies, no disconnected vacuum lines, is fuel pressure to the injector rail within spec (blocked injectors (has it sat awhile?) blocked filters (might have got a bad dose of fuel), damaged/worn fuel pump - it might be low km, but contaminated fuel may have done some damage.

And yes. Has it been flashed? Has it got a power commander? Had any engine work done on it? Cam Position sensor on the way out? AP sensor blocked?

Thanks for all the idears and suggestions Camel, def detonating, I'll have 2 have another look at the vacuum lines and check 4 air leaks again, thinking it's pump and filter blocked or it's dropped or split a vac line some where maybe, have run at least 6-7 tanks through him, a couple with winns and nulon injector cleaner thinking it might wash any varnish or crap out, but not, does sit around a bit, i have a tlr 2 ride as well so have 2 share riding duties that's y the low k's, was running perfect than went 2 screw it on up a hill and just started knocking it's tits off, that's what makes me think something has dropped off or a connection or terminal may be corroded or come lose I'll check again the bike is completely stock, Will check the forum now, but do u know of any after market pump/filter fixes, heard u can put an external filter set up on but not sure what. Thanks again Camel, I appreciate the thoughts and help m8.

I'll try it myself next time I'm out but I know mine will rattle or knock a bit if I'm at low rpm's in a high gear and give it too much gas. If I was doing 3.5thou in 6th gear I would figure that's about 100km/h and I wouldn't open the throttle right up and not expect the bike to be a little cranky. Much better to be in 3rd gear and have a thrill doing opening it up Smitten

The are plenty of posts on fuel pump cleaning and fixes here. Just use the search button. Another thing you need to learn is that the only liquid going into the fuel tank is just that - fuel. No Wynns, no Nulons or any other crap no matter how magical and wonderful it suppose to be working according to its marketing.
