throttle delay
#1
Hey guys,
Here's an interesting one. 2012 busa 900kms and every 2nd or 3rd time i briskly accelerate from first thru the gears there is a big delay with the throttle open waiting for the engine to respond between gears. Bad enough some times i nearly hit my head on the screen. Its weird because if i slow down, back to first, and accelerate with quick changes its beautiful. Bang 1st, 2nd, 3rd no delay. Its probably something simple but its annoying having the throttle open and you can physically feel the delay in the engine. Its not missing or stumbling its just blank for half a second or so. It has its first service this week so i will definitely mention it but i'm not expecting the dealership to even admit its there. By the way, the bike is 100% stock.
Thanks...Very Happy

Sounds like the fuel maps are not right...if it has developed rather than been like it from get go I would also suspect the GPS sensor.

Good luck with the dealer...I would insist on it being sorted...dont take any of their 'there's nothing wrong with it' crap! LOL!!

My 2010 almost leaves me behind when I open the throttle up quickly...

Check your throttle cable play. Do you get any error codes? Also check the mode switch operation. Confused

Back to The Dealer, insist on having them check the bike with their Suzuki Diagnosis System (SDS). It will capture intermittent faults. Check for faulty throttle position sensor (TPS) or possibly compromised Intake Air Pressure (IAP) sensor.

If that fails, ECU Editor or WRT. Or someone who knows how to use SDS.

@aussie steve,
mate its been intermittent from the get-go. GPS sensor i will check. What should i look for?
@shifu,
cable play spot on, no error codes and modes switch/modes work fine.
@camel,
I will mention to dealer all your suggestions on friday morning.

Many thanks guys, hopefully issue resolved soonClap

If this is still under warranty let Suzuki deal with issue...if not then you need to check the resistance from the GPS in all gears each has its own and must be in spec unless it has had a TRE fitted in which case 6th will read the same resistance as 5th...on gen1 TRE it does anyway.....manual is a must.

Dunno about smart, just practised. Imagine having to take every possible route on an Ishikawa (fishbone) diagram before arriving at the solution. That's me.

Dash gear display is pretty sensitive to gps voltage, if its reading ok your gps will be too

by description sounds to me like a lean induced flat spot, and as suggested the dealer should be able to find it with the sds checking sensors
