foot pegs

Read elsewhere on the forum gen2 pegs fit gen1 and are lower. Has anyone done this as opposed to fitting Buell pegs. Riding down to GOR later in the year and the old knees struggle a bit after a few hours. Fitted bar risers which have helped a bit, just after a bit more leg room now.

Not an answer to your question, but if you get the seat altered to be higher, it increases leg room too. I got a higher seat on my track bike and love it (thanks to Big Kev)

Just ordered an Airhawk for that. It's only for thus one longish trip, not wanting to go too overboard

I'm not sure about the footpegs, but I know the Buell pegs had to be "Modified" to fit the gen I anyway. The walls of the bracket the pin fits through are too thick and need to be shaved down to fit.

Sorry about the thread hijack but how much did you raise the seat Pan?

At 6'4" I'd love the extra room, but it's a struggle to fit under the screen as it is.... did it have much of an effect on this?

Raised it an inch all over. Slightly more difficult to tuck in, but I love it on the track bike. After 20 minutes on the track my knees were aching with a stock seat

By the way, I did a thread ages ago on the Buell pegs modification. Let me know and I can dig up some pics...

Zoom in on the footpeg and you can see the "Vario Peg" from motorrad Garage in Perth. Brilliant and lowers the peg nearly 2 inches.

i fitted 1990 gsxr1100 front pegs to mine they go straight in the same mounts and you loose about 40 mils of height bc there solid alloy as the busa rubber inserts make your foot sit a lot higher

Heya Max,

Since putting the buell pegs on, the bottom of the LHS peg hits the exhaust when I'm leaning on it heavily (those who've met me know that it's a fair amount of weight on the poor thing).

Does putting the lowering brackets on move the whole setup straight down, or does it move it outwards a bit?
