Clutch leaking, HELP!
#1
I noticed a cpl of drips of oil under the bike a few weeks ago. Then the other day I had a look and there seems to be oil coming out of the clutch cover.

1. Should I be sh1tting myself that it is damaged or is it just a leaky gasket?

I have been meaning to do a clutch kit on the bike for a while now so maybe this is the incentive to just get to it.

2. Is it difficult to do a full clutch kit on a 99?
Any tips or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Have you tried nipping up all of the clutch cover bolts?

Nope, I thought it was more serious than that.
Will I need to refill the oil I have lost or just check the engine oil level. (Showing my ignorance here, does the oil that runs through the clutch connect to the engine oil system or are they separate systems?)

asking before you screw up shows more brains than asking after you screwed up LOL
they run a wet clutch system using the engine motor oil.

If you are talking about the clutch cover as in the cover with the glass sight in it for checking the engine oil, then oil leaking from here is engine oil. Get a mate who is handy with bikes to take a quick look or post up some pics so as we can ensure you receive the right advice. Paul.

Nigel "03SYD" was also losing clutch fluid when he dropped by the other day - I'm assuming the hydraulic fluid.
Maybe it's an age thing?? co-incidence?

Not generally aware of this happening. Had things apart lately?

As Paul said, put up a few pics.

Given it a tighten which seems to have stopped the leak. Topped up the oil.

Will post some pics shortly.

Thanks to all for the assist.
