The best of both worlds!!!!
Got to do my first track day at Eastern Creek track, and was very fortunate that Blackkat was also at WSID (for those not from Sydney, they are next to each other) competing in the Nitro's...
I posted pics in the Club photos section...
There were 4 of us Busas at EC: Kawa, Spa Man, Ivan and Pan.

The goal is pan is to do a ride day than go the drags that evening then get pissed and sleep over at bruces. Glenn the Spa Man
The track day was brilliant, though I still think I prefer Oran Park because it's tighter and I feel I learn more there...
I was doing 1:38 or 1:39's around the creek. Of course, we weren't allowed to use stop watches, so I just counted the seconds in my head (1, 2, 3...), except for the tight corners where I had to concentrate on turning and leaning and stuff. During those moments I may have stopped counting in my head.
It was a great day. I counted at least 3 bikes down. 2 happened right in front of me.
My FIRST EVER lap was being led by the Superbike School guy. He was giving us a guided tour. He said he would do the first lap at 1/2 speed, the second at 3/4 speed, then wave us through...
He lost the front end on turn 7 and went sliding into the dirt, but still stood up and waved us through... Not much good for our confidence, considering we were the "newbies".
The second off I saw was after lunch. A bloke had been hounding me on a new R1. Admittedly, he wasn't a great rider as even I managed to keep up with him in the corners, then left him for dead on the straight. He was a little ruthless with slower bikes so I backed off and watched him gun it down the straight... Glad I backed off, as he (probably thinking I was going to pass him again), went too hot into turn 1 and flipped in on the grass/dirt...
I don't think anyone was hurt all day. People there mostly seemed to be having fun and racing against themselves... Only a couple of people wrecked their bikes (and egos)...
Good summary of a ride day pan.Do your courses, practice what your taught and the speed will come without the fear.Red mist is dangerous, always ride with some attention left over. All balls and no training only makes you crash faster. Cheers,
