. Just pulled fairing etc off to change my sprockets and put a new chain on.. as i was undoing the case that covers the front sprocket.. the bottom bolt was all ready loose ... on inspection. Ive found that the the thread that the bolt goes into,.......... when the chain has come off, has broke it , see photo,, if i clean the area up. Can i just glue the piece back on, or will it get too much pressure in there,, i dont even know what part of the motor its broken off

You will have to fix it some how as every time the clutch is activated it will flex the sprocket cover....... they crack even with all bolts in place.
And no glue won't do it. Just saw your pic .................. I'd get a new case .................... very messy.

+1 Maj, under all that crud, mud and chain lube is a small alloy cover that covers your gear selector workings mate. Clean it up, take the cover off and replace it, You'll need a new gasket too.

Where are you, it's not a tough job but needs to be done. Don't glue anything. Just inside there is a very f*&^ing expensive gearbox. You don't want dirt, and shit floating around in it.
Have a look at the lower right part of the left side of my motor. I took some picture while I had the motor out fixing a gearbox issue. The odly shaped rectangular cover is what your broken cover should look like.

Under that cover is the gear selecting kit, as shown in this photo from my manual.

Not at all difficult a job to do if you're capable of doing it yourself.

Hey Pete, what would a shop charge to replace that cover bloke?

Good weather, good woman, good road, good bike, good-bye!!
