Shitty Fuel Warning for SA Mob
#1
I always use BP & got caught out with low fuel in the ZX12r the other day so put 5 bucks in at the Shell on Yorketown Rd Elizabeth so I could get to a BP. (98 - whatever the stupid name Shell call it)

Well it keep cutting out & major flat spots when rolling on the Power etc. Wtf

Just went & filled up at the BP & it played up all the way there & was perfect coming Home so if you love ya bike I would give that servo a BIG miss Knuppel2
Isn't it Ironic that my Favourite Stretch of Tarmac is called C.O.P. Eek

I generally try to stick to Caltex Vortex, no probs so far! If I have to, I'll use B.P., but Shell lost my business years ago! But it ain't always possible to use ur fuel of personal choice, especially when ur touring long distances in foreign places!

Thanks for the heads up, Carbon. Pi_thumbsup

I use Vortex 98, BP ultimate and Shell V Power.
I have never (touch wood) had a problem.
Around here (Brisbane), a friend of mine works an the main refinery as a fuel engineer. Been there for 30 years. He says they are all the same(with the same categories) as they come out of the same refinery. He says what BP, Caltex or Shell will tell you, he has no knowledge of. As far as he's concerned they are the same.
From Service Station to Service Station, that is a different matter. I have found quite a few "variations" in the quality mainly because I suspect that they mix a bit of other stuff in to squeeze out a bit of profit and that's very hard to prove quite often, I suspect 1 litre isn't exactly 1 litre if you get my drift.

Thats what you get for filling up in Elizabeth, those VN comodores will run on any crap & their the most driven car out that way.

I sorta think fuel is fuel, however as previously said what you get from the servo varies, might be water in the tanks, crap in their lines, seepage and contaminants from wherever, and the fuel tankers themselves may not be cleaned as well as they could be.
